Flat and curved wedge wire screens are fabricated from V-shaped profile wire and support rod construction, modified into flat panels or curved sieve bend geometries to suit specific application requirements. Curved screens, also known as sieve bends, are self-cleaning, durable, and reusable. The curved geometry with wedge wire oriented perpendicular to flow allows liquid to pass through while solids slide over the curved surface, preventing blinding.
They are suited to high-capacity filtration, dewatering, and slurry separation. Flat screen panels are used in similar applications and in shaker screens and sewage separation systems. Both are manufactured to specific length, width, and radial dimensions. TrayTec supplies flat and curved wedge wire screens to your slot size, material, and dimensional requirements.

The curved geometry positions the wedge wire perpendicular to the flow direction. As the slurry or process stream flows across the curved surface, liquid passes through the slot openings while solids are deflected along the curve and exit at the discharge end. The change in flow direction at each wire creates a turbulent layer that continuously dislodges solids from the screen surface. Contact TrayTec with your process fluid and solids loading to confirm whether a curved screen is the right configuration.

Flat panels are used in applications where the self-cleaning curved geometry is not required, including shaker screens, static filtration panels, and sewage separation systems where the screen is mounted in a fixed flat orientation and cleaning is performed mechanically or by backwash. Contact TrayTec to confirm the correct screen geometry for your application.

Screens are manufactured to specific length, width, and radial dimensions with slot sizes selected to match the particle retention requirements of the application. Contact TrayTec with your vessel or equipment dimensions, required slot size, and material specification to confirm availability and lead time.
