Inlet Diffuser

Description:

The inlet diffuser is a vane-type feed inlet device installed at the inlet nozzle of two-phase and three-phase separators and scrubbers. It reduces the momentum of the incoming stream, provides bulk gas-liquid separation, and ensures uniform gas distribution across the vessel cross-section, which is the foundational requirement for effective phase separation. Without a properly selected inlet device, high gas flows create localized high velocities that jet gas into the liquid surface, generate additional liquid entrainment, and flood the downstream mist eliminator.

Applicable in vertical and horizontal vessels and in mass transfer applications where gas distribution ahead of trays or packed beds is critical. TrayTec supplies and installs inlet diffusers to your vessel and process specification.
